Boundaries
What this is, what it is not, and how we hold it.
A quiet practice can only stay quiet if the edges are honest. This page says out loud what a Dendora reading is, what it is not, and what you should reach for instead when you need something we do not offer.
What this practice is
Contemplative inquiry.
A Dendora reading is a contemplative session drawn from two closely related traditions — the I Ching, an ancient Chinese book of changes, and the Gene Keys, a modern contemplative synthesis that builds on it. The reading is a mirror held up to a question you already carry. It is a conversation, in slow time, that helps you notice patterns in yourself and in the situation. It is a practice, not a service.
The guide's job is to be honest, present, and steady, and to translate the traditional language into words you can actually use. Nothing about the practice depends on you believing anything metaphysical. People arrive skeptical, curious, devout, unsure; all are welcome, and the reading works the same way for all of them.
What this practice is not
Not therapy. Not medicine. Not fortune-telling.
- Not therapy or counseling. The guide is not a licensed mental-health professional. A reading is not a substitute for psychotherapy, trauma work, crisis support, or any clinical treatment.
- Not medical advice. Nothing said in a reading is a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or a substitute for a conversation with a physician.
- Not financial advice. A reading can help you feel more honest about a decision, but it is not investment guidance, tax advice, or business consulting.
- Not legal advice. If there is a legal question in the room, please bring it to a lawyer as well.
- Not deterministic prediction. We do not tell you what will happen. The traditions themselves do not promise this, and neither do we.
How the guide holds sessions
Slow, sober, and undivided.
Sessions are one-to-one, in real time, with the guide's full attention. Nothing is recorded unless you ask for it. The guide will not tell you what to do; she will read the traditional material with you and reflect what she notices, and she will hold silence when silence is what the reading is asking for.
If a reading opens something that clearly belongs with a therapist, a doctor, a lawyer, or a financial advisor, the guide will say so. If a session is not working for you, you are free to end it at any point, and any unused portion is returned as a contribution to the scholarship fund or refunded on request.
The guide does not do late-night crisis calls, romantic or sexual conversations, or any reading that requires her to pretend she can predict a specific outcome. She will decline gently if a reading drifts there.
Consent, privacy, and the wall
Your words are yours.
Questions you type into the free oracle stay in your browser and are not sent to a server. Questions you write to the guide in private chat go only to her. Session recordings, if you request them, are shared only with you and deleted from our side within thirty days unless you ask us to keep them longer.
The community wall is moderated. Posts are pseudonymous by default; nothing in a post identifies its author unless the author identifies themselves. A moderator reads every post before it is answered by the guide or by another practitioner. Anything that is a real crisis is quietly removed and answered privately with resources.
Personal data (name, email, contribution history) is used only to run the session you asked for and the receipts we are required to keep. We do not sell, rent, or share it. We do not run behavioral advertising on this site.
When to seek other support
Please reach for the right hands.
A contemplative reading is not the correct first step for a real emergency. If any of the following is present in your life right now, please reach for the corresponding professional; the reading can happen after, if you still want it.
- Mental-health crisis or thoughts of harming yourself. Contact a mental-health professional or a local crisis line right now. In the US, dial or text 988; internationally, see findahelpline.com.
- Medical concerns. Please speak with a physician or a nurse practitioner. A reading is not a substitute for a real medical assessment, however calming it may feel.
- Financial decisions with real weight. Please add a certified financial planner or accountant to the conversation. The reading may still help you feel honest about the decision; it is not the decision.
- Legal matters. Please bring the question to a lawyer with jurisdiction where you live. The reading cannot substitute for legal counsel.
- Grief and bereavement. A reading can sit with grief, gently, but it does not replace grief counseling or a support group.
If you are ever unsure whether the practice is the right shape for what you are carrying, please write to the guide first. She will tell you honestly, and if the answer is not now, she will tell you that too.
